What is a foodie?
The simple answer is "someone who has an ardent or refined love of everything about food." This term was coined in 1981 to replace stodgy old ones like gourmand and epicurian.
With the rise in popularity of the Food Network, Cooking Channel and online food blogs, just about everyone we know has a growing interest in food. Most of our customers at our new Roscoe Village store can be called foodies, and we love sharing our experience with our foodies. If you see a new or interesting food on the web, TV or in your travels let someone on our staff know. We'll be happy to help you locate those sometimes hard-to-find ingredients.
Since our opening in June 2010, we've spent the past year hand-selected and stocking our shelves with great new foodie delights from around the world. Now we're ready to share some of the great new recipes we've developed here and gathered in our travels.
